Join our team as a Co-Environmental Services Manager!

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Co-Environmental Services Manager ensures the provision of effective Housekeeping, Laundry and Maintenance Services for the Home, residents and staff in collaboration with the Environmental Services Manager. 

The Co-Environmental Services Manager is primarily responsible for building and property maintenance, including routine repairs, preventative maintenance, and coordinating major repairs. The role also involves meticulous inventory management, ensuring the home’s aesthetic appeal and sanitation through interior/exterior clean-up and waste management, and preparing facility spaces for use. Operational safety is a core requirement, mandating the safe operation of equipment, prompt reporting of hazards, and strict adherence to WHMIS and OHS standards. Administrative duties include documenting maintenance activities and conducting facility audits. The position requires participation in professional development, collaboration with team members, fiscally responsible use of resources, and performing other assigned duties to maintain smooth facility operations and promote resident wellness.

We are looking for the following qualifications and traits:

• Experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity which may also include experience and demonstrated leadership in the health care field/setting or a relevant field/setting in accordance with the Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021 ss.70 and Ontario Regulation ss. 98/22 (2) preferred;

• A post-secondary degree or diploma is preferred;

• Knowledge of evidence-based practices and prevailing practices relating to housekeeping, laundry and maintenance as applicable; and

• 1 year of maintenance related work experience preferred

• Ability to perform minor repairs (i.e. caulking, patching and painting of walls)

• Strong attention to detail

• Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment

• Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act

• Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education

• Must understand oral and written instructions

• Valid Driver’s License

Under the direction of the Administrator, the Staff Education Coordinator at Jarlette Health Services, you will work under the direction of the Director of Resident Care, and will provide leadership for coordinating and meeting the learning and educational needs of the staff at the home.

We are looking for the following qualifications and traits:

• Must be Registered with current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario - O. Reg. 246/22, s. 51

• Successful completion of or enrollment in Long Term Care Senior Management or equivalent

• 2 years experience in Long Term Care (Gerontology) preferred

• Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education

• Must be computer literate

• Assesses, implements, evaluates, reports and documents actions to affect positive outcomes related to the residents’ health

• Ensures nursing staff perform assigned tasks and duties

• Responsible and accountable for the coordination, implementation and overall management of Home wide programs such as, but not limited to: Skin care, Behaviour Management, Infection Control, Back Care, CQI/ Risk Management, Palliative Care, Quality of Life, Health and Safety

• Ensures the accurate completion of resident’s records reflecting the resident health status and care provided complying with legislative and Home requirements.

• Participates in the orientation process for residents, students, volunteers and nursing personnel

Reporting to the Life Enrichment Coordinator, the Life Enrichment Aide implements and communicates to all residents and families a schedule of recreation and social activities that are offered during days, evenings and weekends. This involves assessing resident interests and abilities and incorporating resident and family input. This role also contributes to resident care plans, quality improvement initiatives, the promotion of resident independence and well-being, and staying current with best practices in activity programming. The Life Enrichment Aide must also ensure resident safety by adhering to all health and safety legislation (such as the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act) and maintain effective communication with the interdisciplinary team and residents' families.

We are looking for the following qualifications and traits:

• A post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, gerontology or other related field from a community college or university is an asset; or

• Are enrolled in a community college or university in a diploma or degree program in such a field as required under the Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021, ss. 79 and Ontario Regulation ss. 73/22 (1); or

• Experience in another recreational or social programming capacity that would provide the related skills, knowledge and experience required to fulfill the role.

• Experience in Geriatric rehabilitation or Long-Term Care is an asset

• Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education

• Must be flexible, innovative and creative

• Must be computer literate

Under the direction of the Restorative Care Coordinator, the Restorative Care Aide will be responsible and accountable for the delivery of restorative care services.

This role involves providing comprehensive resident care and rehabilitation support, with a strong focus on promoting resident independence and safety. Key responsibilities include direct resident care (ADLs, mobility, feeding), assessing and addressing restorative care needs, executing therapy programs (Physio, OT, Speech), and meticulously documenting resident status and progress. The role also requires strict adherence to safety and OHSA guidelines, active participation in CQI and Risk Management, effective interdisciplinary collaboration, and ongoing education.

We are looking for the following qualifications and traits:

• Successful completion of training program in restorative care, or are enrolled in such a program; or

• Have successfully completed a relevant training course provided by the licensee that is designed and supervised by a qualified therapist who is a member of the appropriate college of a regulated health professional as required under the Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021, ss. 79 and Ontario Regulation 67/22 (2).

• Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education

• Must be flexible, innovative and creative

• Experience in geriatric rehabilitation or Long Term Care (Gerontology) is an asset.

Reporting to the Director of Care, the role of a Registered Practical Nurse encompasses a wide range of professional nursing responsibilities in accordance with the standards of nursing practice as outlined by the College of Nurses. Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, this role provides support in the coordination of care, overseeing designated nursing personnel, and executing tasks as delegated. This position also requires the application of quality improvement and risk management principles, as well as the efficient management of supplies and the meticulous upkeep of the physical environment and equipment.

We are looking for the following qualifications and traits:

• Candidates must possess a current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. O. Reg. 246/22, s. 51

• Experience in a Long-Term Care (Gerontology) setting is an asset
